Mahone Bay Here lies the correspondence of our first day in Nova Scotia. We flew in late Thursday night, thus nothing interesting happened. Day one was packed full, with a bright and early start of 8am. Mahone Bay, Lunenberg and Peggy's Cove were where we ended up and the weather could not have been any more perfect. Take a look at some of the shenanigans we got up to!! :) Lunenberg (and the most awesome lunch spot ever!! The lobster roll is KILLER) So. Many. Colours. <3 <3 And there you have it! Day one of Nova Scotia in a nutshell. I seriously cannot believe how amazing some of these photos turned out, my camera is honestly one of the most important things that I own and to have something that catches moments like these in the most spectacular way, makes looking back on trips and adventures that much better!

So today was the first official day of my weekend long Halifax vacation. Photo diaries of the weekends events will be up here soon but I thought I would also share what I have chosen to wear for this inaugural East Coast trip. I and my clothing are heavily influenced by comfort, and when travelling, the comfort factor increases ten fold. So for a day of sitting in cars, walking along shore lines and squatting on rocks I thought a loose yet flattering ensemble would do just fine. These culottes from Aritzia which I gushed about here are back again because they are honestly one of the comfiest things I own at the moment. They are also incredibly stylish, are hugely on trend for the summer, and are in my life's go-to shade: navy. Navy is not only flattering, it's also incredibly versatile. Which is why it goes so well with my Wilfred cropped blouse (also from Aritzia; I swear I am not sponsored by this brand, I'm just obsessed. Although if they wanted to sponsor me I'd be totally cool with it...) The flared pants go really well with the bell shaped hem of the top providing a flattering, dynamic image. My boots are ones I've been wearing for a while, by Wish Bone Collective, and my trench coat which I threw on at Peggy's Cove because the wind got a little chilly, is....wait for it...... Babaton from Aritzia.... wow I have a problem. When the wind doesn't stop, the hair goes up Titanic minus the ship....and Leonardo...damnit. Hope you guys enjoyed my little update! Photo diaries will be up shortly.

*All images taken from my Tumblr. Remember a while back when I said I was obsessed with ear piercings and that I was super super close to getting more holes punched into my own lobes? Yah, well that died...and has been reborn in a much stronger form than the original. Leave it to Catbird, the most amazing jewellery brand you will EVER find, to reignite my obsession with simple stylish studs. So it seems that it will in fact be sooner rather than later that I make good on my plan to get a few more piercings, because with gems like these out in the world... how could I not??! *All images found and taken from HonestlyWTF.
Chances are that these days anything minimal, feminine and breezy is bound to get my attention. I mean I am very hard pressed to find anything that relates to those aforementioned terms that I don't like, or die when seeing. So when I found Samu-Jussi Koski's spring collection over on HonestlyWTF, my heart fluttered once more. Their images (and clothes) are seriously everything you could ever want for an impromptu summer getaway, from their silk bandeau wrapped tops, pointed straw hats and gloriously coloured prints reminiscent of a mermaid clan you too will be hard pressed not to fall in love. So here, is to brightly coloured summer adventures in clothes that are just as chic as they are practical (Did I mention comfortable??) *All images found and taken from HonestlyWTF. Seriously check out their stuff.
Never did I think there would come a day when I wore wide leg pants. Like, ever. I have always been partial to skinny, slim legged pantalons but one of this summers hottest trends is the free flowing, wind blowing, effortless culotte courtesy of the seventies. And being the die hard fashion girl I am, I naturally had to try them out for myself. What I wasn't expecting was that I would actually fall in love with them. Neither did my mother, who still comments every time I leave the house in anything with a retro flare as it makes her shudder at the bygone days. Well mother, the bygone days are back, and I personally think they are pretty darn good! So, I thought I would share my spin on styling this summers hottest staple (is that enough s's??). Enjoy!! Surprisingly, chicken wings do great things for showing off an outfit... All photos were taken on my NIKON D3200 by the lovely Lea Alinsod (check out her blog here!) Current confirmation of life in the form of a very summery themed collage created by moi. Vacation has gotten pretty hectic the last little while so to de-stress I thought I would create a fun playlist of all the vibes I am currently circulating.
All images were taken from my Pinterest (specifically the {summer lovin'} board). Extra layering bits, well that's a secret. lol Collage was made using Photoshop CS6. Enjoy! I never really liked art. When I was younger I didn't feel like art had a place in my life. I felt like an impostor when I tried to be interested in it because young people don't normally take to appreciating art and I didn't know enough about it to even know what I liked and didn't like. If it was pretty, I liked it and that was as deep as my thoughts got. But now that I am a little older (19 is borderline senior citizen you know ;p) and I know a little more as a result of being at university for a year I am slowly becoming more drawn to all things art related. I enjoy looking at beautiful photography online, contemporary art with deep social commentary is one of my favourite things at the moment and again, I just love looking at pretty things. So this morning when I discovered TAPPAN COLLECTIVE, an online shop and distributor of affordable (and gorgeous) art/photography my foray into the art world was officially peaked. As of late I have noticed myself being drawn to the work of all the Coppola sisters whether it be their books, movies (Sophia), or photography (Gia). Currently I am obsessing over Sophia's films The Virgin Suicides and Somewhere because hello the vibe and cinematography is just so on point in these two films it hurts. I love Gia's fashion films and of course her amazing, whimsical, feminine photography, of which TAPPAN has an incredible assortment of. All in all I'm just loving the summery sophisticated cool vibe in all things, but especially in art, so I thought I would share some of the amazing prints and pieces I am currently coveting from TAPPAN COLLECTIVE. Prints in order following text:
1. "Ladies" by Gia Coppola here 2. "Good Morning" by Lani Trock here 3. "Xenn" by Dafy Hagai here 4. Left: "Bath" by Eric Chakeen here, Right: "Diagram 1" by Alyson Provax here 5. "Eight Miles HIgh" by Isaac Zoller here 6. "Runway" by Gia Coppola here *All images found/taken from the Tappan Collective website. Haven't posted a collage in a while and lately I've been incredibly inspired by pretty much everything around me. I don't know if it's the time of year or just the fact that I am no longer stressing out about school, that has allowed my brain to just exhale and occupy itself with other more whimsical thoughts. But anyways, regardless of the reason, I made this collage the other day when I was bored and it came out quite well in my opinion. It very much captures the mood/vibe I have been feeling lately, which is just super laid back, feminine, summery and breezy (if that's even considered a mood). So, I thought I would share it :) Happy Saturday!!
